Continuing to make a difference – for the better – during these challenging times
The unfolding Coronavirus crisis clearly poses huge challenges and uncertainty for young people across the country. I wanted to reassure you that we continue to prioritise the safety and wellbeing of our members, whilst ensuring we are still influencing change for a better tomorrow.
Following the latest government guidance, we’ve taken the decision to host our most recent and upcoming general meetings virtually.* At the beginning of lockdown (round one), we thought this would affect the way we work. However, we were more productive than we have ever been.
I’d like to thank the members of our Youth Council for their hard work and dedication over the last few months; in a time where we’ve needed to maintain a social distance, I’d say we’ve come together as the brilliant team we are.
We value our relationship with other young people across the city. Collaboration has never been more important, and I hope we can learn from each other during this difficult time.
Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, if you would like more information on the current projects we are working on throughout the pandemic, please get in touch with us. Stay safe,
Chair, Newport Youth Council
